2014: Edu officially joined the team on loan from Stoke City on Jan. 27. In his first year back in MLS, he appeared and started in 31 games, while scoring three goals and adding two assists in 2,789 minutes. He had an assist in his debut during the season opener against Portland on March 8. He scored his first career Union goal on April 5 against Chicago, and then scored again in the following game against Real Salt Lake on April 12. Known for making big play in big games, he scored the lone Union goal in the U.S. Open Cup final against Seattle Sounders at PPL Park on Sept. 16, giving the Union a temporary lead.
2013: Moved on loan to Bursaspor in January from England's Stoke City FC.
2012: Transferred to Stoke City in August of 2012…Appeared in one game against Liverpool.
2011: Won another Scottish Premier League title with the Rangers.
2010: Edu scored his first Champions League goal against Valencia after returning back from injury and became an integral part of Rangers' SPL title, scoring the crucial game winner in stoppage time to give Rangers a 1-0 victory over rivals Celtic FC.
2008: Joined the Scottish Premier League with storied SPL side Rangers FC. Edu appeared in 13 out of 28 games due to a torn knee ligament. His first appearance was against Kilmarnock.
2007: Joined Toronto FC as the No.1 draft pick in MLS in 2007 as a generation Adidas player. Edu scored his first goal against Kansas City Wizards. Edu made 25 appearances and scored four goals in his rookie season. Due to his success, Edu earned Rookie of the Year and moved to Scottish giants Rangers a year later.
2006: Hermann Trophy semifinalist in 2006, as well as a first team NSCAA All-American.
2005: All-ACC second team selection as sophomore at Maryland, scored three goals and five assists for 11 points on the year…Edu played a major role in the success of Maryland's NCAA College Cup National Championship.
2004: Joined the Maryland Terrapins…played in 12 games while starting six. Scored 2 goals and posted 2 assists for the Terps.
Edu has appeared in 45 games for the United States National Team. He was included in the 2008 Summer Olympics and played three games as center back. Edu continues to make appearances under National Team head coach, Jurgen Klinsmann.
