Union to hold preseason in Deltona; compete in Disney Pro Soccer Classic
The countdown is on to the start of the 2013 season and it all begins with Philadelphia Union’s second annual preseason fan trip, February 15-18 in Deltona, Fla. Get out your tailgating equipment, lace up your sneakers, wave your flags, paint your face and bring your loudest chants.
Bimbo Bakeries USA returns for a third year as the presenting sponsor as the Union train at Dewey O. Boster Sports Complex in Deltona and compete against four other Major League Soccer teams in the annual Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
“We are delighted to be returning to Dewey O. Boster Sports Complex in Deltona where we have been building an annual tradition for our fans to enjoy warm weather, some fun in the sun and be included in the Philadelphia Union's preseason preparations,” said Philadelphia Union CEO & operating partner Nick Sakiewicz. “We have enjoyed the previous years immensely and have been given a fantastic welcome by the people of Deltona so it truly feels like home for us.
“The facilities and the Disney Pro Soccer Classic tournament are excellent, which gives our players and coaching staff a great platform to prepare for a new season. It’s also a great place to spend time so we look forward to welcoming our great fans who will be traveling there, while strengthening existing links and building new relationships with the local community.”
Open to all ages, the Union are offering special packages to fans who want to travel down and cheer on the team. Packages start at $165 per person and include such amenities as a welcome reception with the players, a Chalk Talk session, open practice and a BBQ with the team following practice and tickets to a Union match in the Disney World Pro Soccer Classic.
Travelers can partake in everything the Orlando area has to offer with special Disney Property and Orlando Area Property packages that include hotel stays, ground transportation and access to Walt Disney World.
