Daily Doop: One more game, Jack Mac, cool fan tweets and more

A weekend edition of all things Union

Two more days until preseason in Florida is a wrap.

The Union are scheduled to board an early morning flight Sunday but not before one more game in the Disney Pro Soccer Classic against D.C. United’s first team on Saturday (1 p.m.). However, with the match being moved to an earlier time slot, the Union-United will not be streamed on our site as Disney and ESPN will only stream the 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. games via ESPN3.

You can, however, keep it locked to our Twitter and Facebook social media platforms for lineups and live updates. Also, be sure to check philadelphiaunion.com for a full recap.

Moving on…

Forward Jack McInerney is the subject of today"s “The Daily Doop" video portion. In this piece, Jack Mac talks about the budding relationship between the triad of him, Conor Casey and Sebastien Le Toux. And while it’s unlikely, given the different opponents the Union will face over the course of the season that the technical staff will choose one formation that would encompass all three strikers, McInerney still felt developing that camaraderie early is paramount as March 2 looms.

“It’s taken a while to connect, but you know, I’ve played with Seba before and I’ve seen Conor play and I know his style of play,” McInerney told philadelphiaunion.com. “It’s going to take time before we start clicking, but we’ll be ready by March 2.”

It's always amazing -- the overwhelming confidence forwards exude.

In other news,

We announced today that our inaugural Cocktails and Cleats celebration on March 13 at the Hyatt in Center City is sold out. We have over 400 people scheduled to attend the event. However, there are still some opportunities for sponsorship packages for what is sure to be quite the night.

We are eight days away from First Kick and the excitement is palpable from our fans across the social mediasphere. We especially felt the love today, so we thought we’d take this edition of the Daily Doop to recognize some of that fan admiration.

Awesome stuff from some great fans.

Lastly, next week we roll out our season preview, where each day we feature a position on the field and break down all you need to know ahead of March 2. We kick off our weeklong preview with offense and give you an inside look at our forwards.

Enjoy your weekend; we’ll catch up with you all on Monday.
