Travel to RFK Stadium for the D.C. United match with the Sons of Ben as part of “TheUThankU”

Take a trip with the Sons of Ben to RFK Stadium on Oct. 12

Earlier this season, hundreds of Philadelphia Union fans packed enemy stands at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. for the Aug. 18 game against New York.

In 2011, over 1,000 fans traveled to RBA for the regular season finale. The intensity of this rivalry and the growing rivalry with D.C. United continues to gaining steam.

They are always days that are hard to forget for many of Sons of Ben and other fans in attendance -- specifically the ones that traveled to watch the Union battle to a scoreless draw in August against its bitter rival.

“It's an exhilarating experience to walk into enemy territory on game day,” said Kelly Delaney, travel coordinator for the Sons of Ben. “With a few hundred people loudly chanting and singing for the Union, it's always exciting to get messages from people at home that they can hear us and that our dedication is admired.”

Dedication indeed.

The Sons of Ben faithfully attend each game. Their chants and cheers are heard not only by the fans at home, but also the players on the field. They continue to show their undying support by hosting road trips and tailgating parties that all fans are invited to join.

“It doesn't matter your age or your enthusiasm, the Sons of Ben are dedicated to supporting this team while also giving back to the community. We'd love for [fans] to check us out at a tailgate or an away game” said Delaney.

As part of “TheUThankU,” the Philadelphia Union is giving away two spots for the upcoming Oct. 12 match against D.C. United. One winner chosen at random will win two free tickets to the game and two spots on the Sons of Ben bus.
