Union to compete in Walt Disney World® Pro Soccer Classic during 2014 preseason training
Philadelphia Union announced today that the club will compete in the 2014 Walt Disney World® Pro Soccer Classic at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex during its preseason training. Other teams scheduled to participate are 2013 MLS Cup champions Sporting Kansas City, Montreal Impact, Columbus Crew and Orlando City Soccer Club, scheduled to compete in MLS in 2015.
“The facilities and the Disney Pro Soccer Classic tournament are excellent, which gives our players and coaching staff a great platform to prepare for a new season,” said Philadelphia Union CEO & Operating Partner Nick Sakiewicz. “It’s also a great place to spend time so we look forward to welcoming our great fans who will be traveling there, while strengthening existing links and building new relationships with the local community.”
The competition marks the second-straight year the Union will compete in the tournament, which runs from Feb. 19 to Mar. 1. Philadelphia will play in four matches, on Feb. 19, 22 and 26, with the finals held on March 1. All game times and opponents have yet to be determined.

Entering its fifth year, the Disney Pro Soccer Classic is designed to boost interest in soccer throughout Central Florida and establish the area as a prime training and competition destination for pro soccer clubs. Last year, the event at Disney attracted fans from across the U.S. and Canada and gave them a unique opportunity for an intimate fan experience at a world-class facility.
