Career Summary

Brian Sylvestre joined the Philadelphia Union from NASL team the Carolina Railhawks via short-term loan on May 7, 2015 from the Carolina RailHawks.

2015: He was named to the MLS Team of the Week for 12 after his performance against the New York Red Bulls and  got his first career start for the Union on May 9, against the Vancouver Whitecaps where he had a career-high seven saves.

Career

A product of the Schulz academy, Sylvestre joined the Vancouver Whitecaps residency program in 2010. In 2011, he made five appearances with the PDL team and debuted with the White Caps reserves on June 20.

In 2013, Sylvestre joined the Harrisburg City Islanders and made three appearances for the club. His professional debut came against the Philadelphia Union in the 2014 U.S Open Cup, helping the team reach extra time before losing 3-1.

After two seasons with the Harrisburg Islanders, Sylvestre spent the entire 2015 preseason training with the Philadelphia Union before signing with Carolina Railhawks.

Sylvestre´s experience extends to the international level, having participated in U-20 camps and the U-17 residency with the U.S. Men´s National Team. 

Personal

Son of Elaine and Succes Sylvestre and brother of Ali and Jesse, Sylvestre attended Oakridge Elementary School and Hollywood Hills High School in his hometown of Hollywood, Florida. Aside from soccer, Sylvestre was a standout defensive end football player during high school.
