After suffering a sprained right ankle in the 41st minute of a 1-0 win against Celtic FC at PPL Park Wednesday, midfielder Roger Torres is expected to miss approximately two weeks while recovering.
"Roger Torres is going to be out for a couple of weeks,” said Union manager Peter Nowak following the club’s second win in four days, a thrilling 2-1 win vs Toronto on Saturday.
The good news for Philadelphia is that if Torres is in fact able to return within two weeks, he may not miss another league match after sitting out against Toronto.
The Union have a bye next weekend before returning to MLS action July 31 against the New England Revolution at PPL Park. The club will keep busy during the two week break with a pair of friendlies, one against Manchester United this Wednesday, July 21 at Lincoln Financial Field and another against the Harrisburg City Islanders July 27 at the Skyline Sports Complex.
