PHILADELPHIA (Friday, August 13, 2010) – Philadelphia Union will host Chivas de Guadalajara, one of Mexico’s most storied clubs, on Wednesday, September 1 at PPL Park, the club announced today. The game is presented by Comcast and set to kick off at 8:00 p.m. EST.
Chivas, currently a finalist in the renowned Copa Libertadores championship, is Mexico’s most successful team having won a record 11 titles since the start of the professional era. The team is led by Jonny Magallón on defense, while Adolfo “Bofo” Bautista, Alberto “Venado” Medina and Omar Bravo pace the attack.
Philadelphia Union and Chivas are quite familiar with each other, having played to a 2-2 draw behind goals by Jack McInerney and J.T. Noone in preseason training in Mexico.
“It’s great to finish our international friendlies with a team like Chivas de Guadalajara,” said Philadelphia Union Team Manager Peter Nowak. “Having played against them in preseason, we know they are a tough and well conditioned team and we look forward to hosting them at PPL Park.”

The match is included in the 2010 Union season ticket package and parking pass book as Game B. Season ticket holders will have access to an exclusive online pre-sale for additional tickets that begins today and expires Sunday, August 15 at 11:59 p.m. Founding Members have received a link and promo code in an email from the club.
Tickets go on sale to the general public Monday, August 16 at 10:00 a.m. Field Level, Sideline, Endline and Corner tickets are available by calling ComcastTix at 1-800-298-4200, by CLICKING HERE or by visiting the PPL Park box office Mondays-Fridays from 9:00am-5:00pm. Corner seats can be purchased for $25, while Endline and Sideline seats are $30 and $40, respectively. Field Level tickets are $150 per ticket.
For group tickets, please call 877-21-UNION (877-218-6466). Groups of 15 or more will receive a $5 discount per ticket. Groups can receive a $10 discount per ticket by purchasing a group combo pack of 15 or more tickets to both the match against Chivas de Guadalajara and another Union match of their choice. To receive the combination pack discount, both sets of game tickets must be purchased at the same time.
