WEEKLY RECAP: Union give back to Chester community and more

Union help beautify Chester

As a part of MLS WORKS’ Week of Service, Philadelphia Union spent a few hours Monday afternoon to make Talen Energy Stadium as beautiful as possible. Volunteers from the Union’s front office staff and Talen Energy Stadium staff picked up trash around the stadium and in the Chester community.

Career firsts for Elliott, Najem

Jack Elliott earned his first MLS start last Friday when the Union took on NYCFC. During the same game, Adam Najem made his MLS debut when the Philadelphia club. The midfielder subbed in during the 71st minute for Roland Alberg. Both players’ parents were in attendance for the game.

Medunjanin adjusting well to MLS

Despite a less than stellar start for the Union, one of the team’s bright spots this season has been midfielder Haris Medunjanin. With just six career MLS games under his belt, Medunjanin already looks like a solid veteran. So far this season, Medunjanin is third in MLS in chances created with 17.

Throwback night

The Union are hosting Throwback Night at Talen Energy Stadium on May 6 for the team's match against New York Red Bulls, with kick-off at 7:00 p.m. Throughout the night, the Union will be bringing the 80s and 90s to the match in many different ways.
