Any player interested in attending a tryout for Philadelphia Union Summer Select is required to complete an online registration form and attend your designated area tryout sessions.

How do I register my child?
Registration is all completed online with Got Soccer. Click the following link that corresponds to your area.

What is the Cost?
There is a $10 tryout cost per player. The Union Summer Program cost is $575 per player for all age groups.
What does my fee cover?
- Philadelphia Union Select uniforms (jersey, shorts and socks)
- Tournament fees
- Field rentals
- Coaching fees for all training sessions and tournaments
How are players grouped by age?
Age grouping will be based on the current club format as follows:
- 8/1/02 thru 7/31/03 - U12
- 8/1/03 thru 7/31/04 - U11
- 8/1/04 thru 7/31/05 - U10
- 8/1/05 thru 7/31/06 - U9
How long is Philadelphia Union Summer Select training program?
The program will run from approximately June 17, 2015 to July 30, 2015.

Note: Age group times vary by location and will be announced early spring
Do I need to attend all of the try-outs?
You will need to attend at least two (2) of the try-out dates per team and location you wish to be selected.
What are the options for payment if my child makes the program?
If selected the program cost is $575. There is a payment schedule available and is as follows:
- February 1, 2015: $125 deposit due
- March 15, 2015: $150 due
- April 15, 2015: $150 due
- May 15, 2015: $150 due
Who are the coaches of the program?
The Director of the Philadelphia Union Summer Select is Todd Wawrousek. Todd is a former assistant coach with MLS' franchise Vancouver Whitecaps FC, in addition to being the former head coach of the Gettysburg College women’s soccer program. In addition the side directors are:

Will there be a goal keeper trainer?
Yes, there will be a goalkeeper trainer and goalkeeper specific sessions
When will I find out if my child is offered a spot in the program?
Initial player pool decisions will be made by Jan. 2, 2015. You will be contacted via email with the decision. If your child is offered a position, we will need you to complete the online registration and make the $100 non-refundable deposit to secure you place in the program by Feb. 1, 2015.
How will the pool selection work?
Players will be evaluated at the Philadelphia Union Summer Select tryouts and selected by our coaching staff based on their abilities. The players will be evaluated based on technical, tactical, and physical abilities as well as their passion and energy. In the age groups where there are two or more pools, players will be evaluated and placed in player pools that provide the most competitive training environment.
When is the paperwork due?
The Program Administrator will contact you with details and deadlines regarding your child’s participation.
What is a program administrator?
This year the program will have a dedicated administrator. They will interface between the age group player pools and the coaches and the site director(s). They will be your primary point of contact. They will follow-up with any paperwork, passes, training and tournament schedules, cancellations, etc. They are not coaches, but soccer-centric individuals, who will handle the communication and administrative duties for Philadelphia Union’s Summer Select Training program.
What is a companion ticket?
Each Union Select Player receives one free ticket with an adult purchase to a designated Union home game.
How many tournaments will the team play?
U9 – U12 age groups will play a tournament in June and one at the end of July and will partake in one Friendly Festival.
What is the Friendly Festival?
A one day event that the teams will play 2-3 mini games.
