The 2018 Union season is just around the corner, and you want to secure your spot before it's here.
The Union head into the 2018 season with the foundation laid for success for now and in the future. It starts with the Union Academy, which has quickly become one of the leading academies in the nation, not just for soccer but also for the academics. At the Academy, the kids are learning what it takes to be a Union player, with dreams of playing for the big club.
Bethlehem Steel FC is the next pillar, which will make their first ever USL Playoff appearance this season, and the successful season has been because of all three facets of the Union organization. Fourteen academy players have made their USL debut with Steel FC this season, including five in a single game. Goalkeeper Tomas Romero set the record for the youngest goalkeeper in USL history to record a result and a win, at just 16 years old. Union players such as Adam Najem, Aaron Jones and Marcus Epps have also made significant contributions to the team in its 2017 season.
All of that culminates with the first-team, where the Union have built a core ready to win. 2016 Goalkeeper of the Year Andre Blake put in another award-winning season, setting career marks in shutouts and goals against average, while also winning the Golden Gloves for the 2017 Gold Cup. Jack Elliott provides the backbone of the defense, and is one of the leading candidates for Rookie of the Year, despite being picked in the fourth round of the MLS SuperDraft. He lines up with Keegan Rosenberry, runner up for the 2016 Rookie of the Year, and forms one of the best young defensive cores in the lead.
Alejandro Bedoya and Haris Medunjanin as holding midfielders work as a great pairing, with Bedoya serving as a box-to-box workhorse and Medunjanin as a passing and free-kick specialist. And with CJ Sapong as striker, who put together one of the best single-season performances in Union history, the core is there and ready to bring a championship to Philadelphia.
But there is so much more to the Union experience than just the players. Talen Energy Stadium is a crown jewel, one of the best stadiums in all of MLS, especially with the picture-perfect riverfront backdrop. The Sons of Ben are the best supporter's section in MLS, and the only group to bring an MLS to their city. The Union are represented heavily on national teams, whether they be with the senior first-team or with a U-20 squad. The Union have hit in the draft and with homegrown contracts to bring the best youth players into the Union organization.
