Union Fall to FC Dallas 2-0 in Exhibition

Tampa, Florida (March 14, 2010) – Philadelphia Union fell to MLS Western Conference foe FC Dallas 2-0 on Sunday night at Tampa University’s Pepin Stadium. The match was Philadelphia’s first against an MLS opponent this preseason.

Dallas got off to a fast start on an unassisted goal from Dax McCarty in the 10th minute. McCarty dribbled down the right sideline before cutting the ball inside towards goal. All alone, McCarty beat goalkeeper Chris Seitz inside the right post.

In the 76th minute, Dallas struck again off a free kick, with Ruben Luna heading a cross from David Ferreira past goalkeeper Brad Knighton.

Philadelphia Union’s best chance of the night came right before the half when Stefani Miglioranzi dropped the ball off near the top of the box to Roger Torres, who slotted a pass through Dallas’ defense to a streaking Sebastien Le Toux. All alone on Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman, Le Toux fired just over the crossbar.

Three red cards were issued to Philadelphia Union, with Alejandro Moreno, Danny Califf and Michael Orozco being sent off.

On Friday, March 19, the club will take to the pitch at Pepin Stadium to take on the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm. Tickets are $8 for adults (18 and over) and $5 for children (17 and under). For ticket information, please call: 813.257.3100.
