Bethlehem Steel FC announced today the club has added seven more players to its 2016 inaugural roster. Nick Bibbs, Amoy Brown, James Chambers, Seku Conneh, Josh Heard, Raymond Lee and Ken Tribbett will join the club ahead of the upcoming season. Brown, Chambers and Conneh will join the club after receipt of their respective International Transfer Certificate and P-1 Visa’s. Per club and league policy, additional details were not disclosed.

“We’re very happy with the group we’ve been able to assemble ahead of our first season,” Bethlehem Steel FC head coach Brendan Burke said. “There’s really a strong mix of experience, both in USL and overseas, as well a promising blend of young players who we’re confident can take the next step in their professional careers. We’re looking forward to officially getting everyone together for preseason and begin to prepare for our first match on March 26.”

Bibbs, a 24-year-old Philadelphia native, joins Bethlehem Steel FC from Saint Louis FC where the defender appeared in 13 games and made seven starts during the 2015 USL season. A 2012 graduate of Syracuse University, Bibbs appeared in 43 games during his three seasons with the Orange. During his senior season, Bibbs was part of the defense that tied for the third-most clean sheets in the nation and the second-most in team history with 12 shutouts. In 2010, Bibbs played for the Philadelphia Union PDL affiliate Reading United. He’s also played professionally with the Swedish club, IFK Lammhult.

Brown, a 19-year-old Jamaican international forward last played for St. Georges College. In 2014, he led them to the 2014 LIME Cup championship before ultimately losing to Jamaica College. There, he won the tournament’s Golden Boot award.

Chambers, a 28-year-old Irish midfielder, joins Steel FC from St. Patrick’s Athletic F.C. of the Irish Premier Division. He helped lead St. Pat’s to a fourth place finish during the 2015 season, qualifying for the first round of the Europa League. In league action, he played in 32 games and scored four goals. Chambers also won the 2014 FAI Cup, again leading the club `to Europa League qualification. He’s spent time professionally with Irish clubs Shamrock Rovers, Drogheda United and Shelbourne F.C., as well as Hamilton Academical (Scotland) and Solihull Moors F.C. (England).

Liberian forward Conneh, 20, joins Bethlehem from FC Oss, a club in the second division of Dutch Football, Eerste Divisie. During the 2015 season at FC Oss, Conneh scored two goals in 10 appearances and seven starts. Prior to joining FC Oss, the forward played for fellow Eerste Divisie club Fortuna Sittard where he tallied nine goals in 45 appearances and 36 starts. Conneh also spent time in the Ajax youth system.

A 2016 graduate from the University of Washington, Heard, 21, comes to Bethlehem Steel FC after appearing in 74 games and starting 50 during his four seasons with the Huskies. During his senior season, Heard scored one goal and had two assists and was named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. In his junior year in 2014, Heard started 18 games and scored seven goals while helping lead Washington to a 12-4-1 record and the No. 14 national seed in the 2014 Men’s College Cup. He was then selected by Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the fourth round of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft with the No. 71 overall selection, but chose to sign with Steel FC.

Lee, a 22-year-old defender, was drafted by the Union in the fourth round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft with the No. 71 overall pick. He made his professional debut as a substitute during a 3-2 loss to Sporting Kansas City on April 5. He also made his first start during a friendly against AFC Bournemouth on July 14. Lee was then waived by the club on Aug. 28. Prior to joining the Union, Lee played four years at the University of Saint Louis where he scored 14 goals while playing in 75 games, making 68 starts.

Tribbett, 23, played for Harrisburg City Islanders during the 2015 season where he started all 28 matches and scored three goals in his first professional season. Prior to the City Islanders, Tribbett played in PDL for the Michigan Bucks in 2014. A four-year starter at Drexel University, the defensive midfielder earned second team All-South Atlantic region, first team All-Colonial Athletic Association and CAA All-Tournament honors after leading Dragons to their first CAA Tournament title and a second consecutive berth in the NCAA tournament during his senior year.

In all, these seven players will join Boluwatife Akinyode, Samir Badr, Michael Daly, Gabe Gissie, Derrick Jones and Ryan Richter for the current Bethlehem Steel FC roster. In addition to Brown, Chambers and Conneh, a fourth international spot will be occupied by Akinyode.
