The United States Women’s National Team will be returning to Talen Energy Stadium on March 1 to take part in the SheBelieves Cup. In addition to the normally high expectations the team has, they will be carrying with them the fact that they have never lost when they have played at Talen Energy Stadium before.
In the past, the team has faced China, Costa Rica, Mexico and Colombia in Philadelphia, winning every game and outscoring those teams 16-1.
In 2012, the USWNT defeated China 4-1 thanks in part to two goals by Alex Morgan. Abby Wambach tacked on a third, while an own goal brought the U.S. to four.
In 2014, the stadium was one of the host sites for the CONCACAF Women's Championship. The U.S. defeated Mexico 3-0 in the semifinal, with two goals coming from Carli Lloyd and one from Christen Press.
Two days later, the Stars and Stripes topped Costa Rica 6-0 to win the Women's CONCACAF Championships. Abby Wombach scored four goals in the rout.
The most recent time the USWNT played in Chester, they faced off against Colombia in an international friendly in 2016. Christen Press scored once while Julie Johnston netted two goals in a 3-0 win.
