Roster and Injury News: Union head to Sporting KC

Union team post Tor 2019 home opener

As Philadelphia rolls west to Kansas City for their first road match of 2019, Jim Curtin has a healthy squad at his disposal.

After taking a knock in the opener against Toronto FC, Ilsinho is feeling no ill effects and is fully in contention for a spot in Sunday’s eighteen.

The other player to miss time this week was Sergio Santos, but it was not for any physical reason. Instead, Santos and his wife welcomed a daughter into the world, and the striker spent a good chunk of time making sure Violetta got to see a lot of her father’s smiling face now that she has arrived.

Mark McKenzie and Olivier Mbaizo both missed chunks of time with preseason injuries but have been training without issue all week.

Finally, new signing Jamiro Monteio began training this week and will continue working toward his first MLS minutes over the coming weeks.

The Union travel to Kansas City on March 10 to take on Sporting KC at 3 p.m. ET on PHL17.
