Tied at the break for the first time in the tournament, two goals in eight minutes saw the United States Women's National Team win their fourth FIFA Women's World Cup Championship.

The stars of the tournament rose to the occasion in the culmination of the month-long journey as Alex Morgan drew a penalty inside the Netherlands box. Golden Boot and Golden Ball winner Megan Rapinoe converted from the spot in the 61st minute that broke open the match that saw the Dutch contain the high-power American attack. Eight minutes later, Rose Lavelle added the exclamation point to the contest driving down the middle of the pitch and riffling home a shot from just outside the 18-yard box.

The title gives the USWNT their fourth championship, joining the 1991, 1999 and 2015 squads while also becoming just the second country to repeat as champions on the biggest stage of women's soccer.
