Reasons to Watch: Wooten home debut, Sapong return

The Union are back in the house! So grab some friends and get ready for a huge matchup against Chicago Fire on Saturday night.

Wooten

Woot, here he is! New striker Andrew Wooten announced himself last weekend with a wonderful half-volley that was called back by VAR. That means Wooten will be looking for his MLS opener on Saturday and he’ll be desperate to start tallying the goals in front of a home crowd on Saturday.

Return of Old Friends

CJ Sapong and Fabian Herbers are back in the house! Not only that, but they’re bringing a pretty strong lineup with them. German legend Bastian Schweinsteiger will be trying to help his side earn their first away win of the season behind former Golden Boot winner Nemanja Nikolic and Przemyslaw Frankowski.

Longest run in first

When Philly takes the field on Saturday, they will do it as a team with the club’s longest consecutive streak of days in first place in the Eastern Conference. It has been over 45 days since anyone other than Philadelphia was atop the mountain in the east, and the Union aim to keep it that way.

Catch all the action beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET from Talen Energy Stadium or on PHL17.
