(August 20, 2020) – The Philadelphia Union earned a point on the road in New England Thursday night after a tremendous defensive effort kept 44 crosses, and nine corners, out of the back of the Union’s net. Matt Real joined the starting lineup at left back for his third start of the season and Olivier Mbaizo made his first appearance of the season when he came on as sub in the second half. The Union next return to action for their first home match of the 2020 season at Subaru Park, August 25 vs. New York Red Bulls (7:30 p.m. ET / PHL17).

  • The Union picked up a point on the road in New England, putting them in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, one point behind New York Red Bulls.
  • Andre Blake earned his second clean sheet of the regular season, and third over all 2020 competitions. He is now 7-2-2 against the Rev’s with six clean sheets. He also continued to add to his league-leading regular season saves, now with 28.
  • Matt Real registered his third start of the season and his fourth game played at left back. He started the Union’s first two regular season contests on the road. This match is Real’s 10th MLS appearance for the club.
  • Olivier Mbaizo logged his first minutes of the season coming on to the pitch in the second half, playing as a right back.
