The Union will host Montreal Impact Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. ET. Fans can tune into the match on Comcast SportsNet, and here are just a few reasons why fans should com out and watch the Boys in Blue.
Points up for grabs
The Union and Montreal Impact remain close in the Eastern Conference standings, with only two points separating the teams. At this point in the season, nearly every game affects the playoff picture. The Union are eighth in the East, with Montreal sitting just behind them at ninth. The Union, who are currently 7-3-2 at home, look to continue their winning success with a crucial three points against the Impact. The Impact are currently 1-5-5 away, which means the Union have what it takes to dominate in the match, and are prepared to grab more points at home to increase their chances towards the playoffs.
Sapong on fire
Union striker CJ Sapong has been a key player on the pitch for the team this season. He continues to lead the Union with most goals scored on the team with 12, and has also registered himself five assists alone this season. In the Union's last match against FC Dallas, Sapong was unstoppable. The striker earned himself a brace, registering his 11th and 12th goals. When the team faces off against Montreal, you can bet that Sapong will be looking to find his way to the back of the net and rack up more points to add to his already impressive season so far.
Defending home field
The Union continue to see tremendous success on home turf against some major opponents. The Union continues one of the best home stretches in MLS history, moving 7-1-0 in it's last eight home matches. During that stretch, the team has earned five clean sheets, while four players during that time frame have also recorded at least one goal and assist. The match against Montreal will be important, especially with the season starting to come to a close.
