Union Academy Recap - 9/15

This past weekend, Philadelphia Union Academy’s U15s and U17s competed on their home turf at YSC Sports in a match against Virginia Development Academy.

Both coaches found positive takeaways from their early season matches. The Union U15s won 3-0 with forward Selmir Miscic scoring all three goals in the match. U15 Coach Chris Brewer was pleased with the all around performance in the start to the new season.

The U17s drew their match 1-1 behind an impressive individual goal from Cole Turner. Coach Gary Lewis additionally singled out defender Ian Graham, playing up a year, as a standout player in the match.

Union Academy Alumni:

Union Academy U19 Head Coach Jeff Cook brings a special history with Dartmouth to the organization, having previously serving as the Big Green's Head Coach. This season, two Freshmen joined the Green from the Union Academy, Dawson McCartney and Tiger Graham. Both players bring Bethlehem Steel FC experience and played pivotal roles in Dartmouth’s first win over Hartford, with Dawson McCartney starting and Tiger Graham providing a crucial 30 minutes off the bench.

Looking Ahead:

This weekend, Philadelphia Union Academy’s season kicks off in earnest as the U13s through U19s travel to Richmond to kick off the season in a series of matches against Richmond United.
