Bethlehem Steel FC's match against Louisville City FC was a historic one for the Union's USL side, as Cory Burke set the record for career goals with the team.
With the game’s opening tally in the 20th minute, Burke became the club’s all-time leading scorer when he smashed home his 10th career goal at Louisville. Burke’s goal added to his impressive play of late, with the 25-year-old being unstoppable since returning from the CONCACAF Gold Cup. After helping the Reggae Boyz to the final, Burke has scored four goals and added two assists since returning from the tournament.
Burke’s goal broke a tie with teammate Seku Conneh and added another chapter to his growing list of club records. Burke already is the club’s all-time leader in points (24) shots taken (86). Up next for Burke is the club record for shots on target, which his next will do so, and assists where is tied with Santi Moar, Adam Najem and James Chambers.
