Andre Blake's accolades continues to add up, as he was named to the MLS Team of the Week for the second time in three weeks.
Blake showed why he's the best goalkeeper in the league Sunday on national television, when he made five saves to keep Seattle Sounders FC off the board in the Union's 2-0 win.
Blake's first half was uneventful, as he wasn't forced to make any save in the half. But it was in the second half when he turned in the impressive performance, showing off his athleticism in making highlight reel save after highlight reel save.
It started when Blake stopped Clint Dempsey in the 62nd and 64th minutes, the first two threatening scoring chances the Sounders had. But he really shined in the 81st minute, when he made a diving save to stone Will Bruin. His save was nominated for MLS Save of the Week.
Blake's clean sheet was his ninth of the season, continuing to extend his career high. He also lowered his goals against average to 1.25, which is on pace to be the lowest of his career.
