Curtin vs. DC United

Union Today: Jim's Presser, New Ink and more

Coach's Corner

Head Coach Jim Curtin held his weekly press conference yesterday, where he discussed the upcoming match against New York Red Bulls. Curtin reaffirmed that the starting XI is chosen based off of what is done in training, just as it always has been this season. But he also gave an update on who will fill Oguchi Onyewu's open spot, as he will have to sit due to a suspension for yellow card accumulation. To read more about his press conference, click here

New Ink

Josh Yaro and Marcus Epps took a trip down to Bonedaddys Tattoo, where the two were inked by the shop. Yaro got his very first tattoo, one in honor of his mother who passed away last year. It was Epps' second tattoo, but it was his first to signifying him being drafted by the Union. Assistant coach BJ Callaghan worked with special guest Dan Czar for a tattoo depicting his family and home town Atlantic City. To see the ink and read more, click here.

Offensive Minded

The Union have three players who have quietly put together some impressive performances this season. CJ Sapong, who is one away from tying the Union's single season goal record, is also tied with Jozy Altidore for most goals among all American born players in 2017. Roland Alberg is tied for second in goals since joining MLS in 2016, while playing half the minutes of top players in the category. And Fafa Picault has the most road points this season with four, tied for Sapong for tops on the team. These three players will be key for three points at Red Bull. To read more, click here
