Battling the Crowd
When the Union face off against Atlanta United FC Wednesday night, the team won't just have to battle the 11 Atlanta players on the field. More than 50,000 Atlanta fans are expected to be in attendance, creating what has quickly become one of the toughest places to play in MLS. Head Coach Jim Curtin said in his press scrum before leaving for Georgia that the team has prepared for the crowd, and that understanding roles and where teammates are going to be is paramount. Bury Me in Philly
As part of the team's U Thank U match against Seattle Sounders FC, the Union allowed fans to pick a playlist to play during pre-game. Fans submitted songs, and those songs were categorized into three distinct playlists, which were then put up for a vote. Winning with more than 45 percent of the vote was the U Thank U - Philly playlist, featuring songs and artists about Philly or from Philly. To see the winning playlist, click here.
Design or Die
Also a part of the Union's U Thank U festivities was a partnership with RushOrderTees.com for the Design or Die contest. Fans created a T-shirt design and submitted it to be selected by RushOrderTees.com and the Union to be distributed at the team's U Thank U match. After more than 125 submissions, the Union announced the winning design, created by Nick Maccari. To see his design, click here.
