Philadelphia Union Academy faced regional rivals Bethesda over the past weekend, and walked away with a mix of results as the first month of the season comes to a close.
The weekend was highlighted by a victory from the oldest age group, the U19s, who continued their perfect start to the season with a 4-0 result. Issa Rayyan, a 17-year-old who has been featured with the Steel FC, notched two goals in one half of play.

U14s: Draw 3-3
U15s: Loss 3-5
U17s: Won 3-1
U19s: Won 4-0
Elsewhere, the U17s remained unbeaten with a 1-1 draw, and the U15’s Selmir Miscic scored twice, bringing his total to an impressive eight goals in four matches.
In the college ranks, freshman playmaker Josue Monge has made himself invaluable at South Florida, earning four starts in four consecutive matches and leading the Bulls to three unbeaten in a row. Monge scored a goal for USF vs. Louisville to tie the game in the most recent fixture. Monge started 2017 lining up as the attacking midfielder for Bethlehem Steel FC, and has utilized that experience to start a very impressive rookie campaign. Freddy Gil, another freshman Union alum at USF, made his debut against Louisville.
