Union Today: BC calls it a career, quick hits from Curtin's presser and more

Thank You BC

Sunday's game will be the final game of Brian Carroll's career, as he announced he'd be retiring at the end of the 2017 season. His career spanned 370 games, good for fourth-most in MLS, and is sixth all-time in MLS for minutes played. He's believed to be the only MLS player to win four consecutive Supporter's Shields. He was an ideal teammate and a fantastic person off the pitch, and he will be missed inside the Union locker room and around MLS. Finishing Strong

Head Coach Jim Curtin addressed the media Thursday ahead of the team's season finale against Orlando City SC. Much of the conversation was about Brian Carroll, and Curtin said the team will do everything they can to make sure he sees the pitch for his 371st appearance, but more importantly, so the fans can give him the proper farewell that he deserves. Saving Lives

Sunday's match is Paws on the Pitch, and Doggie Style Pets wanted to do something special for the match. They will have puppies available for adoption just like every game, but these puppies are ones that were rescued from Puerto Rico after the hurricanes hit.
