Union Today: Stewart and Curtin's end of year presser, Steel roster moves and more

End of Year Press Conference

Wednesday afternoon, Sporting Director Earnie Stewart and Head Coach Jim Curtin held their 2017 end of season press conference. Stewart gave his thoughts about the 2017 season, while also giving more context and insights in the roster moves the Union made Wednesday morning. He also announced Curtin would be returning as the team's head coach for 2018. Curtin also spoke about player development and what the team hopes to accomplish in the offseason and in 2018. Steel Roster Moves

Bethlehem Steel FC announced their roster moves Thursday morning, the highlight of which is picking up the options of Matt Real and Matthew Mahoney; midfielders Chris Nanco and Santi Moar, and forward Cory Burke.  To read the full roster moves, click here

End of Year Awards

Jack Elliott and Andre Blake were two of the Union's most important players in 2017, and MLS has named them finalists as some of the best players in the entire league. Elliott was named a finalist for Rookie of the Year, becoming the second Union player in as many seasons to be a finalist, while Blake is once again a finalist for Goalkeeper of the Year, just one season after winning the award.
