First round of 2017 College Cup kicks off Thursday

The bracket was released Monday afternoon, but finally, the 2017 College Cup will officially begin Thursday. 

At 1:00 p.m. ET, Massachusetts and Colgate will begin their match, which opens the first round of the tournament. All 16 first round games will be played Thursday, giving soccer fans all they can handle. 

Specifically for Union fans, there are a few games you'll want to pay attention to. Three teams in the first round have former Union Academy products on their roster, each of them looking to advance in the tournament to reach Talen Energy Stadium. Union fans will want to root for Fordham against St. Francis Brooklyn, FIU against Omaha and Maryland against Albany.
