North Carolina heads into the College Cup semifinals for the second straight season, looking to reach the College Cup finals for the first time since 2011. The Tar Heels handily defeated each of its three opponents in the College Cup bracket so far, but now faces one of the toughest teams in the tournament in Indiana. But the Tar Heels face the best defense in the nation with three players who all have 20-plus points on the season. North Carolina is led by Cam Lindley, who has 27 points (seven goals, 13 assists). Following closely behind Lindley was Jelani Pieters with 25 points (nine goals, seven assists) and Alan Winn with 24 points (11 goals, two assists). Defensively, the Tar Heels have employed three different goalkeepers, each with more than 250 minutes played this season. During the College Cup, North Carolina has been led by James Pyle, who has a measly 1.00 goals-against average in his seven starts this season. North Carolina has a chance to upset the best team remaining in the College Cup tournament, and their match against Indiana could be the match of the tournament.
