Issa Rayyan has been a soccer player his whole life, whether it was playing inside his house with his dad or winning nationals with his club team. When he was 14 years old, Rayyan moved from Michigan to Philadelphia to become a full member of the Union Academy. Through his journey, Rayyan has traveled with the US Boys National Teams, and made his USL debut. He's committed to Duke for college, but still dreams to play for the Union on Talen Energy Stadium.

Know Your College

North Carolina heads into today's College Cup semifinals searching for the program's second trophy. Reaching the semifinals for the second consecutive season, the Tar Heels feature a potent attack, with four players with 19 points or more on the season. The team has also received some solid defense of late, as goalkeeper James Pyle is 6-1-0 in 2017, including winning his last three games. Both will need to be in fine form when the team plays Indiana in its semifinal matchup.

Union Academy

The Union U19s traveled down to Florida for the Development Academy Winter Showcase, where the team won two of its three matches and earned seven points. Highlighting the tournament for the U19s was a 4-1 victory against Real Salt Lake, regarded as one of the top teams in the West. Academy Director Tommy Wilson said he was very impressed with the U19s performance in the tournament from the top of the roster to the bottom.
