Union U13s sweep Concacaf Awards

After claiming the ScotiaBank Concacaf Champions League U13s trophy in Costa Rica with a 2-1 victory over El Salvador's ADFA Santa Ana, the Union 13s swept the awards from the tournament.

The U13s squad led by head coach Phil Karn amassed 22 goals in the six-game journey to the title while allowing just three goals. Karn's squad was awarded the Fair Play Award along with tournament title. Goalkeeper Andrew Rick Jr. claimed the Golden Gloves after racking up three clean sheets while Angel Gael Medrano claimed the Golden Boot for his 10-goal performance that inlcluded a pair of hat tricks.

Philadelphia Union midfielder Aaron Heard claimed the final award of the tournament by being named the tournament's Golden Ball recipient, as the most prominent player in the Concacaf Under-13 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League.
