MLS annual list of awards released with Union as nominee for MLS Fair Play Award as team

The list of annual Major League Soccer awards were released this morning with the Union nominated for its Fair Play award as a team.
Among all 19 teams, the Union afforded the least amount of cautions (37 yellows) and only amassed just five ejections (red cards) all season.
Also on the ballot with the Union is Western Conference teams in Los Angeles as well as Real Salt Lake. Winners are scheduled to be announced by MLS Communications on Monday, Nov. 24.
The finalists for each award, listed in alphabetical order below, earned the most votes in polling of three voting groups:

  • MLS Clubs (Coaches, Technical Directors, Chief Business Officers and PR/Community Relations)
  • Media members who covered MLS regularly in 2014


The most outstanding individual plays of the 2014 season will be honored on Thursday, Dec. 4 when the AT&T Goal of the Year and Save of the Year are announced. Voting for the Goal and Save of the Year is conducted at MLSsoccer.com.  For the complete dates of announcement:
