Tonight's the night as Philadelphia Union says thanks to those on the frontline protecting the Philadelphia region with a special “Heroes and All Stars” FIFA20 simulated match. The Hero squad will face off on the virtual pitch against the 2019 Major League Soccer All-Star squad.
The event is part of the Union’s “FIGHT FOR PHILLY” platform that will provide thousands of pieces of Personal Protective Equipment and meals to local workers on the front lines of the covid-19 pandemic while highlighting members of the Philadelphia community selflessly working to help others in a difficult time.
The Philadelphia Hero roster features customized likenesses of 18 front-line workers that were nominated to appear by someone local who felt they were going above and beyond on behalf of the Philly community. The match will kick off at 7 p.m. and will be streamed live above as well as the Union’s YouTube channel, Facebook page and on Twitter.
