A Special Day

September 20th at Subaru Park was filled with energy as the Philadelphia Union welcomed the New England Revolution. Adding to the excitement, players from the Union Youth’s Player Pathway Program (PPP) were recognized with a unique game-day experience.

The day started with open play on the WSFS Bank Sportsplex Turf fields, where players, families, and coaches all joined in. Parents had the opportunity to step onto the pitch and chat with the coaches, and that kind of open conversation is a significant part of what makes our program strong.

Next came an up-close look at the First Team’s pre-match warmups, as PPP players took in the action from the field-side bench. Sitting where the pros prepare, they got an insider’s glimpse into the world their MLS idols experience every game day.

Before kickoff, PPP players were chosen to walk alongside the pros as they entered the field for the national anthem. They experienced the roar of the crowd and stood proudly in front of thousands of supporters, a moment sure to stay with them for years to come.

Backed by Kinetic PT, the Player Pathway Program is more than just a training initiative. It’s a bridge that links developing players to the broader Union family, offering mentorship, skill-building, and unforgettable experiences that deepen their love for the game.

While the Union and Revolution faced off, the promise of Philadelphia’s soccer future was already visible and standing proudly just a few steps from the action.
