A special Achievement Unlocked, presented by Independence Blue Cross, occurred as the Philadelphia Union returned to MLS action against rivals Red Bull New York on Wednesday night.
Homegrown defender Neil Pierre scored his first Major League Soccer goal, finding the back of the net in the 66th minute to help lift the Boys in Blue to a 3-1 victory at Subaru Park. Pierre rose to meet Kai Wagner's corner kick with a powerful header, capping off a memorable night in his first MLS league appearance at Subaru Park.
The milestone marked another special moment for the Philadelphia Union Academy product, whose teammates immediately swarmed him in celebration after the finish.
