In partnership with Subaru of America and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, the Philadelphia Union joined students at Edgmont Scholars Academy to revitalize raised garden beds with flowers and fresh vegetables. Through hands-on planting and guided lessons in plant care, students learned how growing their own items can strengthen their community and combat food insecurity.
By transforming their schoolyard into a source of nourishment and pride, these young changemakers are sowing seeds of sustainability—and proving that lasting impact begins right at home.
Together, we’re growing more than gardens. We’re growing access, equity, and opportunity.
