Philadelphia Union midfielder Jose "El Brujo" Martinez was named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Week bench for Week 28, the league announced on Thursday evening.
Martinez the team with eight tackles and a match-high 16 possessions gained while blocking one shot from the New York Red Bulls shot. The Venezuelan also won 74% of his duels in the gritty 1-1 draw on Wednesday night.
Philadelphia Union are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they host defending MLS Cup Champions, Columbus Crew. The match presented by Thomas will is set to kick off at 4 p.m. ET and will be shown on PHL17 and PhiladelphiaUnion.com.
