While Cameroon saw its time at the 2022 FIFA World Cup come to an end, it got a memorable victory as they knocked off Brazil by a 1-0 scoreline.

Philadelphia Union right back Olivier Mbaizo might have been in line for a special start in the next round after starting right back Collins Fai picked up his second yellow card of the tournament for a one-match suspension but Switzerland held on against Serbia, 3-2, to claim Group G's runner up spot. Mbaizo was the first player in Union history to be on the active roster and make the final roster for soccer's biggest tournament.

The win by Cameroon was a momentous one as it set a new Africa wins record with seven in the Group Stage, besting the previous record of four set in 2010.
