“My husband, Sean, and I have been married almost 14 years, and I am a stay-at-home mom with two amazing kids, Eric (11) and Nora (7), which basically means my life runs on soccer schedules. Between the 2 of them, we have no days off from the fields and I don't think I'd know what to do with myself if we actually did. We live at the beach so when it's warm enough (and sometimes even when it's not) and we have a couple hours free you'll always find us there. I love that both of my kids fell in love with soccer and keep pushing themselves to be better players and better teammates. In one of my son's very first travel season games, he played goalie for barely 15 minutes and his defensive players were non-existent and the other team scored on him. He decided right then and there that he was going to become the best defensive player he could so that his goalie never felt like he was on his own the way he had just felt. Soccer has taught him how to work hard, even when he may not want to; how to graciously handle a victory and how to rally after a defeat; how you can be tough opponents on the field and best friends once you step off the field. It's taught them both to be better friends, leaders, and listeners. We are so lucky to have met so many great friends through this sport and are grateful to have had such encouraging and knowledgeable coaches to help teach both kids along the way.”
