Curtin provides status updates on Bedoya and Gazdag

Ahead of Philadelphia Union's Leagues Cup Quarterfinal against Queretaro F.C., Head Coach Jim Curtin provided status updates on midfielders Daniel Gazdag and Alejandro Bedoya.

Daniel Gazdag

“Daniel got a MRI and it’s a grade 1 (knee) sprain which is about as good news as you can possibly get. He’s feeling better and better each today but I think tomorrow will be too quick but I don’t think Tuesday is ruled out. He’s a competitor and I don’t think he’ll want to miss that game if we are fortunate enough to advance. It is our job now to pick up in his absence and have a little extra in the game for him because he has won us a lot of games by himself individually. Fortunate for us it is not a long-term injury and it will be about how quickly can he recover and get back into the group.”

Alejandro Bedoya

“Alejandro trained fully today with the group and looks good. We’ll hold off on tomorrow but he’ll rejoin the group and if we are able to advance then he’ll be a participant for Tuesday. That is the goal barring there are no setbacks. He still needs to build fitness and sharpness though.”
