Philadelphia Union return to the pitch this Saturday evening when they take on Colorado Rapids at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. As the Union prepare for their first road contest of the 2018 season, we give you a heads up on the best fantasy options for the weekend.
David Accam – MF - $9.3
If you’re looking for Philadelphia Union representation in your midfield, then look no further than David Accam. The speedster from Ghana has shown what he can do in one-on-one situations, creating headaches for opponents. Despite a small sample size, Accam has made his presence felt against Colorado in his career. Accam has recorded a goal and an assist in two of his three career matches against the Rapids. With the Union eager to get Accam on the scoresheet, look for the winger to make an impact on the match this weekend.
Jack Elliott – D – $6.5
Prior to the match against Columbus Crew SC we told you that Jack Elliott was worth a gamble in your Starting XI, and Elliott did not disappoint. Elliott was instrumental in the club’s shutout performance against the Crew on March 17. The defender from London, England had 97 touches in the draw, the most by any Union player on the day. Elliott made six total clearances on Saturday which was the most by any Union player and was all over the pitch with 10 recoveries. Elliott also made 87 passes in the contest with an accuracy of 82.8. Elliott was also named MLS Team of the Week for the second time in two matches. Elliott will look to keep fantasy owners satisfied by keeping opponents off the scoring sheet for the third consecutive match.
Andre Blake – GK - $7.0
It is becoming a weekly trend, but as the saying goes, “If it isn’t broke, then don’t fix it” and that applies to Union goalkeeper Andre Blake. The Captain for the Reggae Boyz has been sensational in 2018 for Philadelphia. Fantasy owners will be salivating over this stat, as Blake
is the only regular starting goalkeeper in MLS to own a perfect 100 save percentage, and not allow a goal this season. If you have Blake on your roster, the consensus is to continue to ride the wave of stellar performances from the 2016 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year as he heads into Colorado for this weekend’s matchup with the Rapids.
