Philadelphia Union announced Wednesday morning that the club has acquired forward Matheus Davό. Here are some fast facts on the Union's newest player.
- The forward comes to the Union just five days away from his 22nd birthday. The transaction is the second straight that brings another fellow countryman to the club with Davό joining Brazilians Sergio Santos and Ilsinho.
- Davό comes to the Union with eight goals and six assists since 2019. Davό has been on loan with Brazilian club Guarani FC in the Série B league this year where he has scored five goals and added four assists in 44 appearances (41 starts). He recorded his first multi-point game for the club when he scored a goal and recorded an assist on June 2, 2021, in a 5-2 victory over Operário-PR, and contributed with another multi-point game when he scored and added a helper in a 4-1 win over Confianca-SE on July 21, 2021.
- When he arrives with the Union, he'll wear No. 7 for the Boys in Blue. He'll become the fifth player in club history to wear the kit which has been worn previously by Brian Carroll and Fred.
