On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Philadelphia Union will honor Dr. King’s legacy through a meaningful Day of Service rooted in reflection, unity, and community impact.
As part of the initiative, the Union will address food insecurity in Chester by providing healthy, cost-effective meal packs, along with resource cards that connect residents to information and support—helping families continue to stock their pantries with nutritious, affordable ingredients.
All meal packs and resource materials will be donated to the Community Pantry at the Boys & Girls Club of Chester. Those interested in volunteering with the Union are encouraged to sign up here on the club’s U-Serve site and arrive the Union Yards by 10AM ET.
In addition, the City of Chester, Widener University, the CAAT Center, Making a Change Group, and Delco Volunteers will host Day of Service events throughout Chester, further honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Details on events taking place throughout the day can be found below.
