A pair of Philadelphia Union homegrowns are in the spotlight once more as Anthony Fontana and Mark McKenzie earned a spot on the MLS Team of the Week after helping the Union completed Phase One with a 2-1 victory over the New England Revolution.

Fontana brought an offensive spark in the second half as soon as he took to the Subaru Park field in the 65th minute, needing only 10 minutes to score his first goal of 2020. After the Revs equalized, Fontana didn't quit as he blasted a chance from 20 yards out that not only is up for MLS Goal of the Week but was historic as he became the first Union homegrown to net a brace in a league contest.

On the other end of the field, center back Mark McKenzie once again held things down for the squad to earn his second Team of the Week honor in 2020. The Bear, Delaware native led the squad with five clearances, four tackles and a pair of interceptions. Defense wasn't the other part of his game as he completed over 80 percent of his passes.

The duo pushes the Union's Team of the Week honors to eight this season. Philadelphia Union kick off Phase 2 on Sunday evening with a neutral site contest against the Montreal Impact on Sunday, September 20th. Kick off from Red Bull Arena is set for 7 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on PHL17 and PhiladelphiaUnion.com.
