What is the "Pathway" in the Player Pathway Program?
The Philadelphia Union is dedicated to developing young talent into the best versions of themselves on and off the field. Our dedicated pathway is here to help those players thrive in the right environment.
We want to prepare our players for any path that fits their needs and development, whether in their club environment, our academy, high school, college, semi-pro, etc. As players develop, so will their exposure to high-performance environments within our program.

All training is grounded in the Philadelphia Union’s methodology and core principles. Every term, concept, and session reflects what the Union values and how it succeeds.
Exercises are designed to challenge players’ perspectives on the game, introducing complex and thought-provoking ideas aligned with our methodology.
Each session integrates Technical, Tactical, Physical, and Mental components to support well-rounded development.

What is the selection process?
Every player must be identified or recommended through Philadelphia Union Youth programs or our Open ID Events. Selected players will be invited to join the PPP and placed into their age group Training Pool.
Training pools are designed to be adaptable to players’ individual needs, allowing movement within groups throughout the year to maximize growth and to challenge their development.
