Q & A with Keegan Rosenberry

Posted by Philadelphia Union on Tuesday, March 13, 2018

On Tuesday afternoon, Philadelphia Union defender Keegan Rosenberry took time to hop on the club’s Facebook account to answer questions from fans. In case you missed out, we have a recap of what Rosenberry chatted about:

Wawa or Sheetz?

The fans tested the right back with a local question that is as old as time itself. Do you prefer Wawa or Sheetz? Here's what he had to say.

“I think I’d have to go with Wawa. I usually build my own type of sandwich with the 10-inch hoagie. I usually get chicken, bacon, ranch on it. Definitely pepper jack cheese on there as well. “

Tiger is back

As most of the fans know, Rosenberry is a big golfer, so it should come as no surprise that he was excited to see Tiger Woods back in action.

“I thought Tiger was awesome. I was very excited to see how well he played and how much excitement he has on the sport of golf.”

Baseball and Hot Dogs

Rosenberry has been known to catch a Phillies game or two when he has time off. He was more than happy to give his thoughts on the newest members of the Fightin’ Phils and what he likes on his hot dog at the ballpark.

“I’m very excited, very excited about a couple of the signings recently with Jake Arietta and the main thing is improvement year in and year out.” Roseberry said. “Well it depends if I’m trying to eat a mass quantity, in that case then I won’t waste my time with toppings. I like to put everything on there, just no onions or sauerkraut though. Mustard, ketchup and relish is my go to.”

Trustying the Process

Rosenberry was asked what he thought of Homegrown talent Auston Trusty.

“Oh absolutely, I think anybody in Philadelphia needs to be a fan of that. I think he (Auston Trusty) played really well in his first game and the sky is the limit for him so hopefully we can keep it going.”

It’s a thriller

Rosenberry was asked who on the roster he would choose as his partner in a session of car-pool karaoke.

“You know there was a lot of Michael Jackson playing in the locker-room today and Marcus (Epps) was belting it out so I’d have to go with him.”

Team success is the key

Rosenberry was asked what his personal goals for the season were, but the third year player out of Georgetown says it all starts with the club.

“I don’t talk too much about personal goals just because a lot of that has to do with the team’s success we have. You look at my first year and second year with the team making the playoffs and obviously me having a better year as well. My weekly battle to be in the Starting XI is important to me, but if the team is getting better week in and week out it’s better for all of us.”

March Madness

It wouldn’t be a March Facebook Live session without a question about Rosenberry’s NCAA March Madness bracket, but he wasn’t willing to give away too much on how he’s filling out the bracket for 2018.

“I was just saying I need to make a couple edits today. Someone thinks Houston is going to go pretty far but I don’t know about that. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Virginia, Michigan State, Arizona but I need to do a little more research.”

A note to younger Keegan Rosenberry

The question was asked to Rosenberry, 'What advice you’d give your 15-year-old self?' The Ronks, Pennsylvania native wasn’t shy about what he would tell a younger version of himself.

“Soccer related I’d have to say I’m a big believer in training technique. A lot of the technical stuff I was taught at a young age has stuck with me throughout my career. You can’t control how big you are until a certain extent when you start working out. I think the technical aspect is important to stress as you grow up and develop.”

That’s a wrap!

Rosenberry finished out the session with a special message for the fans as we get ready for Columbus.

“You guys were awesome at the home opener and I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday!”
