Jack Elliott was named to the MLS Team of the Week after scoring a goal and locking down Orlando City SC's attack in a 5-1 win Saturday night.
Elliott, a leading candidate for Major League Soccer's Defender of the Year and Team of the Year, helped the Union knock off Orlando City after the visitors came into Subaru Park on the heels of a US Open Cup win.
Orlando proved no match for Elliott and the rest of the Union back line, and were only able to secure a late consolation goal after Philly put the game out of reach. Elliott's goal was his second of the year, tying his single-season career high that he set in 2018 and matched in 2019, 2021, and now 2022. Elliott also has two assists on the season.
Curtin has once again guided the club to another recording-breaking season with new club highs in goals scored, points, wins and a fifth-straight Audi MLS Cup Playoff appearance. Atop the conference by eights points and just three behind LAFC for the Supporters' Shield, Curtin has his squad primed for another spectacular postseason run at the right time.
