After four days of high-level international competition, the semifinal matchups for Snow Bowl 2026 presented by The SWAG and YSC Academy are officially set.
Friday’s schedule will feature decisive knockout contests in both the U-15 and U-16 divisions, along with showcase matches that continue tournament play for the remaining clubs.
With dramatic finishes, late winners, and statement performances throughout the week at the WSFS Bank Sportsplex, Friday promises another compelling day of international academy soccer.
U-16 Division – Semifinals
Four battle-tested sides advance to the knockout stage.
S.L. Benfica vs. Lyngby Boldklub – 3:00 PM
The first semifinal of the U-16 Division features No. 2 seed S.L. Benfica taking on No. 3 seed Lyngby Boldklub. The Portuguese side enters unbeaten in tournament play, built on strong defensive performances and timely scoring in key moments throughout group competition. Lyngby Boldklub secured its semifinal berth after a dramatic final-day push, earning enough points to advance to the knockout round.
Philadelphia Union vs. Borussia Mönchengladbach – 4:30 PM
These clubs meet again after Philadelphia Union closed group play with a 3-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach. The Union enter the semifinal unbeaten as the top seed, while the German side advanced courtesy of its tournament-opening win against PSV Eindhoven. Friday’s rematch provides Borussia Mönchengladbach an opportunity for redemption with a berth in the final at stake.
U-15 Division Semifinals
The U-15 bracket delivers two marquee rematches following a dramatic final day of group play.
Philadelphia Union vs. CF Monterrey – 12:00 PM
Philadelphia Union enters as the No. 2 seed after an unbeaten group stage campaign. The Union will face CF Monterrey, who carry momentum into the semifinal after rallying from a two-goal deficit against Newcastle United on the final day to secure the No. 3 seed.
Borussia Dortmund vs. Manchester United – 1:30 PM
This semifinal marks a second meeting between the European sides after Borussia Dortmund defeated Manchester United 3-0 in group play. Manchester United secured advancement on the final day and will now look to reverse the earlier result with a trip to the final on the line.
Showcase Matches
Newcastle United vs. Chicago Fire FC – 9:00 AM [U-15 Match]
Newcastle and Chicago meet again after their earlier 3-1 contest in group play. Friday’s showcase provides both clubs another opportunity to compete as Snow Bowl 2026 continues.
Chicago Fire FC vs. PSV Eindhoven – 10:30 AM [U-16 match]
Chicago and PSV square off again after meeting earlier in group play, when Chicago earned a 3-1 victory. Friday’s showcase contest provides PSV an opportunity to build on momentum from its most recent outing, a 2-2 draw against Lyngby Boldklub.
Alberg NextGen vs. FC DELCO – 6:00 PM [U-18 match]
Friday’s final match will see Alberg NextGen take on FC DELCO in a U-18 friendly as part of tournament action. The South African side is coming off its strongest offensive performance, scoring twice against Portuguese side S.L. Benfica on Thursday afternoon. FC DELCO will make its lone appearance in Snow Bowl 2026, providing another local club the opportunity to compete against international opposition.
