Korzeniowski earns MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Matchweek honors

Philadelphia Union II’s Stas Korzeniowski has been awarded MLS NEXT Pro’s Player of the Matchweek honors for his brace in the team’s 2-1 win over FC Cincinnati 2 on Saturday. 

Korzeniowski, the team’s 23-year-old forward, scored both of Philly’s goals, opening scoring in the 16th minute, then finding another in the 64th to secure the win after the visitors equalized. 

With his pair of goals, the University of Pennsylvania alum now has seven goals and an assist over six MLS NEXT Pro matches played so far this season.

Next up, Union II will face New England Revolution on August 16th at 7pm on the road.
