Philadelphia Union Youth is proud to announce the Goalkeeper Academy, a six-week training series designed specifically for young goalkeepers who want to refine their skills, boost confidence, and elevate their game to the next level. This immersive program puts goalkeepers at the heart of the action, with each session dedicated to a different aspect of the position. Under the guidance of experienced Union Youth coaches, players will learn the techniques, decision-making skills, and game awareness that distinguish great keepers from the rest.

WHAT TO EXPECT EACH WEEK

Ball Handling: Build a strong foundation with proper catching, secure handling, and control under pressure.
Diving: Learn to dominate your box with low, medium, and extended diving techniques to keep every ball out.
1v1 Challenges: Master the art of closing down attackers, making smart decisions, and winning one-on-one battles.
Aerial Work: Command your area by attacking crosses, handling set-pieces, and gaining confidence in the air.
Distribution & Building: From throws to goal kicks, sharpen your ability to start attacks and lead your team in transition.
Footskills: Modern keepers are playmakers too—enhance your touch, passing, and movement with the ball at your feet.
